"A man who carries a cat by the tail learns something he can learn in no other way."
~Mark Twain
This is a tough one to explain...humm. I guess if you were to carry a cat by the tail you can't possibly share the experience by doing something else. In other words; to try to substitute something by trying to do it in a different way, you won't get the same effects as the original. Example: A man wants to learn how to garden, the guy can't just start gardening by trying to learn it another way, can he?
Or this quote could mean something else....it could be a play on words. Carrying a cat by it's tail is in all words, crazy!! so if you do that he's probably learning not to do that through the pain of other (aka, the cat) and he can't solve the problem he has gotten himself into any other way, he has to face it on how it happened.
whew, i guess you can tell i kinda stunk on that one...lol, oh well. I'm really not sure how to explain it, but if you do, tell me!!!!:-)
